TRADEMARKS, SERVICE MARKS, and TRADE DRESS
In the global economy, your company's identity - and the verbal and visual symbols of that identity - is one of its most valuable and vulnerable assets. We work with our clients to help them build, support and defend their brands.

Our attorneys are experienced in counseling clients on all aspects of trademark and trade dress protection and enforcement in a wide variety of industries and businesses, from start-ups to major international corporations. We can help select, clear, register and protect trademarks in the United States and across the world. We can help review and clear advertising prior to publication. When brands are threatened with misappropriation, infringement or dilution, we have the litigation and negotiation experience to resolve issues favorably for our clients.

Selection and Registration
We advise our clients in the selection and clearance of distinguishing names, designs, packaging, images and other signifiers of a company's unique and memorable trade identity. We represent clients in the prosecution of domestic trademark applications in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and also in applying for and obtaining trademarks and service marks in numerous foreign countries throughout the world. We help clients develop an overall strategy for applying for trademarks in order to be cost effective and minimize future problems. Our experience and skill in domestic and foreign trademark prosecution has resulted in our developing successful approaches to trademark procurement, development, policing, enforcement, and strategic planning.

Licensing, Monitoring and Enforcement
Our attorneys also advise clients on the licensing of trademarks and service marks and on the monitoring of licensing arrangements. We have extensive experience counseling clients on trademark-related Internet and domain name matters that often arise in the digital age, and we develop and conduct trademark and trade dress monitoring and policing programs in order to protect our clients' brands. We have conducted extensive protection campaigns against knock-offs sold over the Internet for major consumer products companies. Our attorneys are also experienced in handling trademark oppositions, cancellations, and appeals before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and in enforcing and defending trademark, trade dress, dilution, and unfair competition rights in litigation cases brought in various state and federal courts.
