Steven Chen, resident in the Orange County office, specializes in preparing and prosecuting patent applications and counseling clients on intellectual property matters. Mr. Chen has written patents in broad technology areas including GPS, communication system, and integrated circuits. Mr. Chen has also performed technical analysis in patent litigation. In addition, Mr. Chen has developed IP portfolio roadmap and provided strategic counseling for engineering start up.
Mr. Chen earned his J.D. from the Whittier Law School with a certificate in intellectual property law. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California. Mr. Chen is a member of the California Bar.
Prior to joining MacPherson Kwok Chen & Heid LLP, Mr. Chen worked as an in-house attorney at SiRF Technology, where he was also a founding member of the technical team. At SiRF, Mr. Chen worked on patent prosecution, patent litigation, patent analysis and strategic counseling. Mr. Chen has over 20 years of experience in leading the development of pioneering technologies as an entrepreneur, founder, consultant, and innovator at technology companies. Mr. Chen is the inventor on numerous patents and has published in technical journals.
Mr. Chen is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.
