Jennifer Lantz counsels clients as to the availability of trademarks, their registrability in the U.S. and worldwide, and on trademark licensing and enforcement, including opposition and cancellation proceedings in the Patent and Trademark Office. She has counseled established clients and start-ups regarding domain name issues and use of trademarks on the Internet, and she has negotiated favorable settlements in numerous trademark disputes, including those involving registered trademarks, trade names and domain names. Ms. Lantz has also spearheaded enforcement campaigns for clients in industries where counterfeiting and knock-offs are prevalent.
Ms. Lantz brings more than twelve years of intellectual property litigation, trademark and copyright practice experience to the firm. In addition to trademark counseling, Ms. Lantz focuses her practice on litigating and resolving trademark disputes and other significant and complex intellectual property and business disputes for clients.
Ms. Lantz has litigated patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, licensing, contract, and shareholder disputes. Along with other firm attorneys, Ms. Lantz recently represented a start up in a commercial arbitration over contracts which resulted in an eight-figure award to her client. Ms. Lantz has represented numerous high technology companies, from multinationals to start-ups, in all aspects of litigation and negotiation for technologies including DRAMs, PLDs/FPGAs, semiconductor design and processing, device physics, hard drives, power supplies, computer software, the Internet, gaming, and filters, among others.
Ms. Lantz is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California, Massachusetts, and Georgia, the United States Supreme Court, and the Courts of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Ninth Circuit, and the First Circuit.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Lantz was a senior associate at Skjerven Morrill LLP in San Jose.
