Norman Carte, resident in the Orange County office, specializes in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. He has more than twenty years of experience in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in various high tech areas such as digital and analog electronics, integrated circuit fabrication, computer architecture, broadband communications (including cable modem and DSL), quadrature amplitude modulation, networking, optical systems, lasers, holographic data storage systems, fiber optics (including DWDM interleaving and wavelength measurement), connectors, software, artificial intelligence, radar evasion, Internet business methods, medical devices and complex mechanical systems. Mr. Carte is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Carte spent five years at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory testing satellites and spacecraft. He has also provided engineering consulting services to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and TRW Space Systems in the fields of digital control systems and instrumentation.
